Didn’t Sleeper already do this?

Sleeper ran a version called Game Pick. In 2024 it stopped new Game Pick leagues and made Lock-In the default, and players split on the change.

Circled Hoops keeps the pick before the week and makes the lock real: one game per starter, set before the week locks, so there is no daily checking or waiver cycling. Picks that sit get an automatic sub, rest days included, and you follow every pick with live scoring and projections.

Why not Lock-In?

Lock-In lets you decide which game counts after you have seen it, so it still rewards checking every night and cycling the waiver wire. Here the skill is the read you make before the week starts: the matchup, the rest days, the pace. Skill, not stamina.

What happens when my player sits?

Before the week locks, you can name a bench backup for any starter and pick one of the backup’s games. If your starter is ruled out (listed out, inactive at tip-off, which covers rest days, or he never gets in the game), the backup’s game counts instead. A postponed game counts as ruled out too.

No backup named? If your league allows injury subs, you can put in another player for one of his games that has not started. If your starter plays at all, even three minutes, that game counts as played.

Can we start now that the season has begun?

Yes. Your first week is the next one that locks, and your standings start there. Create the league, send the invite to your group chat, and set lineups before the week locks.

Is it free?

Yes, all of it, for everyone. Every feature is free for every league: custom scoring, full league history, export, all of it. Nothing is paywalled. A few sponsor links, ads in the iPhone app and an optional Buy Me a Coffee tip help cover the server bills.

Is this the NBA’s game?
